A brief synopsis (in no particular order):

  • I am a mommy to two rambunctious babies who happily and unashamedly vie for the majority of my time.

  • I am a wife to my steady and fun-loving husband and we enjoy spending much of our time together remodeling our fixer-upper and gardening.

  • My faith is the basis on which my life and purpose rests.

  • I was born in Keokuk, IA, but grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, moving back to this flat land (*smile*) just over two years ago.

  • When I am not changing diapers, feeding hungry babies, or picking up messes, I enjoy reading a good, nerdy or hot-topic book.

  • A spotless house and a home cooked meal rarely occur synonymously at my house…it’s usually one or the other (actually, I don’t think my house has been spotless since our first baby was born).

  • My mom, who was my dearest friend, died of triple-negative, stage 4 breast cancer two months after I was married.

  • I have faced moderate to severe PPD after both of my girls turned three months old, which in turn has given me the experience and passion to bring awareness and quality support to other mamas as they navigate their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

  • I started a private Facebook group called Christian Mamas Have Scary Thoughts for moms who currently have or have had a mental disorder at some point during their motherhood journey. It is being filled with resources, help, relatability, and encouragement.

  • I am all about acknowledging the hard and "finding what works for you," while simultaneously leaving room for growth.

  • I am most inspired by mothers who are kind, compassionate, non-judgmental, and no-nonsense. I especially feel at home with other moms who are honest about their struggles and have smudgy windows and appliances like I do!

  • I dislike meddlers, especially in the birthing world. Mommy is Boss and that’s final.

  • I love quiet and undisturbed naps, sourdough bread, slobbery kisses from my babies, dates to Panera Bread, shopping at T.J. Maxx, healthy plants, fresh eggs, comfy clothes, and neutral colors.
